I am delighted to have been chosen to fight the parliamentary seat of Brigg and Goole at the next election. I am especially honoured to have been selected in an open primary, which allowed any residents from the constituency to attend and choose their candidate for the next election, regardless of whether or not they were a party member. We are the only party to open our selection procedure to the general public.

Brigg and Goole has been badly let down by the Labour government and Gordon Brown's local Labour MP. Labour have starved local schools of fair funding by providing East Riding schools with the fourth worst education grant in the country. I am actively campaigning against cuts to local health services, such as ward closures at Goole Hospital and the rationing of health services across North Lincolnshire.

Labour have failed the people of Brigg and Goole in so many ways. I am here to work for all residents in this constituency and campaign for you on the issues that matter. Not only am I opposing cuts to our local health services but I am also campaigning for drastic improvements to our local Police Force, for changes in bridge tolls on the Humber Bridge and for improvements to our local environment.
